A special place discovered by the two of you.

I want to create a wedding celebrated in the SATOYAMA of Japan.

With the theme of "what a wedding should be like," we decided to open a wedding venue in nature in the Satoyama area of Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture. The idea for this project came from the photo book "Country Weddings" by photographer Robert Doisneau. Photographed in the village of Saint-Sauvin, France in 1951, this photo book depicts a simple wedding ceremony, with the whole village bringing their own home-cooked meals and celebrating, which strongly evoked the idea of "true love and happiness."

The reason we chose Chiba Prefecture is that it is only an hour away from our home in Tokyo and is home to many of Japan's original landscapes, nature, and satoyama, and the connections with the people who live there bring us back to our roots. We hope to feel the essence of love and happiness in these landscapes and the activities of the people, and to convey that beauty through our wedding.

PROFILE

1969
My father founded an import interior business.

1990
I joined the company that my father managed in the import interior industry. During trips abroad for purchasing, I was exposed to diverse cultures and customs, which deepened my admiration for antiques.

1998
Inspired by the "culture of cherishing old things" that I witnessed in Belgium and France, I founded "Old Maison." I began focusing not only on the furniture and decorations themselves but also on creating the surrounding space.

2010 and beyond
I began directing wedding venues and commercial facilities. Over the years, I have worked on numerous unique exhibitions themed around "the good old days." Notable themes include The Hotel Grand Bratislava, Spirit of Darwin, ANATOLIA, and SAPEURS.

2022
I started a wedding facility project in the nature of Kimitsu City, Chiba, themed around "the original way of a wedding." The inspiration behind this project came from the photobook The Country Wedding by photographer Robert Doisneau. The photobook, taken in 1951 in the village of Saint-Sauveur, France, depicts a simple wedding where the entire village gathers to celebrate with homemade dishes, which strongly reminded me of what "true love and happiness" are. Chiba is home to Japan's original landscapes, nature, and satoyama, and the connection with the people living there brings me back to my roots. In these landscapes and the lives of the people, I feel the essence of love and happiness, and I aim to share its beauty through the form of a wedding.

2024
I opened the nature-based wedding facility KODACHI in Shirakoma, Kimitsu City, Chiba.
